According with Indiana, (n.d.) to avoid plagiarism, people must give credit to authors when:
·         You use a person’s idea, opinion, or though.

Pieces of advice for avoiding plagiarism based on Indiana, (n.d.)

1. Put in quotations everything you take from the text as it was in it.

2. Paraphrase, what means "a restatement of a text or passage giving the meaning in another form, as for clearness; rewording", dictionary, (n.d). When you paraphrase you must keep just the idea but not change just a few words.

3. If you are going to paraphrase you should to read over what you want to paraphrase and don not see the original text while you are paraphrasing. In this way you are not going to feel tempt to see the text as a guide.

Important

Remember check your write after paraphrase because in some cases there are many words that can be equal in the original text and yours.

In this case common Knowledge is information that can be open for everybody like, birth and death dates of well-known figures, and generally accepted dates of military, political, literary, (writing, n.d.)

Comment

The example or situation closest I have seen on plagiarism has been at schools where students have taken advantage of valuable sources like books or internet to take from there much or all the information for developing their schools assignments throughout the year doing copy paste.

The lack of values such as honesty is the main cause of this problem so often. On the other hand teachers often unwittingly are complicit in this failure already receiving the homework and do not verify the bibliographic sources consulted or not rather as students should be punished, for that is students continue doing plagiarism. However, I must stress that often neither teachers are trained to teach their students how to use the APA format.

A solution, not immediate but effective, for me, would be to educate children about the importance of learning, teaching them the value of honesty and that doing plagiarism they are never going to learn, which is the purpose of schools, to tech students.
